by Shani Mare-Gregory
Ingredients:
3 cups short grain rice
400g pork mince
1/4 cup sliced spring onion
1Tbsp Black sesame seed
1Tbsp minced ginger
1Tbsp Good Chow Chilli Oil
1/4 cup Good Chow's Secret Everything Sauce
Oil for frying
Method:
1- Cook rice and leave to cool to room temperature.
2- While the rice is cooling, make the filling for the yaki onigiri.
3- In a hot skillet add oil and fry pork mince for 8-10mins or until golden, stirring often.
4- Add spring onion, minced ginger and Good Chow Everything Sauce. Cook through for 1-3 minutes while stirring.
5- Lower heat. Add black sesame seeds & Good Chow Aromatic Chilli Oil, stir through & remove from heat.
6- Shape cooled rice into balls then use a teaspoon to gently poke a hole in the middle. Fill generously with the mixture and reshape.
Optional: roll rice ball in sesame seeds for an extra burst of flavour and texture. Cook directly over charcoal to give a nice crispy smokey flavour. Drizzle with loads of Good Chow Everything Sauce and enjoy!
